Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut to Open Radiation Oncology Center

Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital, a member of Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System, will open its new radiation oncology center tomorrow, according to a Trumbull Patch report.

The Trumbull Radiation Oncology Center centralizes all radiation therapy services previously available at the hospital, and will offer new services, such as stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy, in the coming months, according to the report.

The radiation oncology center is located in a new 10,000-square-foot facility that is adjacent to a building housing affiliated physicians' offices. These facilities are part of a comprehensive outpatient center Bridgeport is planning and that may also include a third building with additional cancer services, according to the report.
