Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Health Systems announced a partnership with Berkshire Hematology/Oncology, a private medical practice, to develop a new $30 million cancer center.
Berkshire Hematology/Oncology's three physicians will join BMC's physician practice organization at new offices at Berkshire Medical Center Hillcrest Campus in Pittsfield, where the new cancer center will be located. The partnership and new center are designed to improve the quality of cancer care and increase access to oncology services.
BMC Cancer Center will offer hematology/oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology consultation and various support services. The center will bring services for all cancer disciplines in one location and will facilitate the coordination of care with other medical and surgical specialties and physician practices in the community, according to the release.
