Employee strikes planned at HCA's West Hills Hospital & Medical Center in Los Angeles and Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif., have been put on hold as contract talks resume between the hospitals and SEIU United Healthcare Workers-West, according the Agoura Hills Patch.
The union is bargaining for improved staffing, pay and benefits, according to the report.
If a contract is not signed, more than 2,700 employees at West Hills alone — including vocational nurses, certified nursing assistants and radiology technicians — are expected to go on strike. Registered nurses at West Hills are not represented by SEIU, according to the report.
