Nurses at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., have canceled their plans to strike, according to a Washington Post report.
The nurses union, National Nurses United, had scheduled the one-day strike for Nov. 24.
The union agreed to cancel the strike and resume negotiations after management agreed to postpone pay cuts, according to the report.
A representative from the union previously said the key reason for the strike was to address nurse understaffing at the hospital. The union filed a complaint on Nov. 1 with D.C.'s health department asking it to investigate nurse-to-patient ratios that allegedly put patients at risk. A representative for the hospital called the understaffing allegations "untrue" and "unfair," according to the report.
The two groups will resume negotiations on Nov. 29.
