Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Hospital and Englewood (N.J.) Hospital and Medical Center have gone to court to fight the reopening of Westwood, N.J.-based Pascack Valley Hospital, according to a Record report.
Valley Hospital and EHMC asked the state court permission to appeal the Health Commissioner's call for applications for a new general hospital in Bergen County, N.J. Valley Hospital and EHMC claim that the decision was designed to allow only Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center to apply and that there was no proven need for a new hospital, according to the report.
Hackensack University Medical Center has proposed to reopen Pascack Valley Hospital with a for-profit partner.
