Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J., and Englewood (N.J.) Hospital and Medical Center have issued a letter to the state's Health Commissioner opposing the reopening of Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, N.J., according to a report by the Star-Ledger.
The letter argues that the commissioner should dismiss an application by Hackensack University Medical Center to reopen the facility, which closed in Nov. 2007, arguing that the application does not meet state requirements.
Hackensack applied to reopen the hospital as a joint venture with Legacy Hospital Partners, a Plano, Texas-based for-profit company.
