Kaiser Permanente, based in Oakland, Calif., has broken ground for new facility that would replace its Redwood City (Calif.) Medical Center, according to a Daily Journal report.
The seven-story replacement hospital, projected to open in 2014, will feature 149 patient rooms, new technology, seismic-safe conditions and more space, according to the report. Health system officials have yet to decide whether they will repurpose the old medical center or demolish it.
