West Branch (Mich.) Regional Medical Center is still searching for a COO after the board-selected candidate turned the position down, according to a report by The Ogemaw County Herald.
According to the report, the unnamed candidate turned the offer down because his spouse did not want to live in the West Branch area.
The hospital's board will now start from scratch to fill the COO position, which has been vacant since October 2011. The former COO, Ed Napierala, left the position open when he assumed the role of CEO after Douglas Pattullo retired last year.
