Bruce Bartels, president and CEO of York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health, has announced he plans to retire at the end of 2013, according to a Central Penn Business Journal report.
Mr. Bartels will work with the board of directors to make transition plans and help identify a new leader, according to the report.
Mr. Bartels has served as president of WellSpan and its predecessor organizations since 1988, according to the report. He earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.
