Virginia system expands duties of leadership team

Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health System is expanding the responsibilities of  three members of the executive leadership team as the organization eyes future growth.

The changes, per a July 30 news release from the health system:

John McCurley, MD, vice president and chief medical officer of health system transformation, will assume the role of interim president of Richmond-based VCU Medical Center and senior vice president at VCU Health System.

Elias Neujahr will retain the title of president of Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU and has accepted new responsibilities for the real estate and strategic facilities planning team.

Sheldon Barr, MSN, RN, will retain the title of president of VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, Va., and assume additional supervisory responsibilities for VCU Health Tappahannock (Va.) Hospital, Henrico, Va.-based Ambulatory Surgery Center at Short Pump, and future community-based patient care facilities.

All of the changes take effect Aug. 15.
