Virginia hospital president to step down

Rita Bunch will step down from her role as president of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Va., on Sept. 13.

Ms. Bunch will join Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System, according to an Aug. 19 news release from Sentara Health shared with Becker's. She had served the 176-bed Martha Jefferson Hospital since January 2022.

Ms. Bunch led the hospital through opening the Sentara Martha Jefferson Outpatient Care Center, its collaboration with Charlottesville-based UVA Health Children's on an outpatient clinic, and an emergency department restructuring to expand capacity, the release said.

Hampton Roads, Va.-based Sentara Health is a 12-hospital system.
