UPMC taps 3 leaders for hospital roles

Pittsburgh-based UPMC has named new hospital leadership following Susan Hoolahan's recently announced retirement plans.

Ms. Hoolahan plans to retire as president of UPMC Passavant, which has hospital campuses in Pittsburgh and Cranberry Township, Pa., in early October.

With her retirement, Beth Piccione, MD,  president of UPMC Jameson and UPMC Horizon, was selected as the next president of UPMC Passavant, according to UPMC.

The health system also announced that Dave Patton was appointed president of UPMC Jameson in New Castle, Pa., and UPMC Horizon, which has campuses in Farrell, Pa., and Greenville, Pa. Mr. Patton previously held a leadership role at UPMC Horizon. Most recently, he has been serving as president of Pittsburgh-based UPMC St. Margaret. 

Andrew Ritchie will be the next president of UPMC St. Margaret and vice president of the UPMC Health Services Division, according to UPMC. A health system news release said he will also oversee UPMC Sports Medicine and the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute. Most recently, Mr. Ritchie has been serving as regional COO at Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth.

The new appointments are effective Aug. 1.
