West Plains, Mo.-based Ozarks Healthcare has promoted its chief nursing officer, Lacey Carter, MSN, to the position of chief operating officer. She will serve in a dual role.
"Lacey started at Ozarks Healthcare about six years ago, overseeing the Women's Center before being named the director of nursing," Tom Keller, president and CEO of Ozarks Healthcare, said in a July 15 news release. "More recently, Lacey has been chief nursing officer and has taken on even more than a typical chief nursing officer."
Throughout her tenure at the health system, she has led nursing units, overseen the opening of its women's center in 2020 and played a key role in establishing the first COVID-19 units during the start of the pandemic.
Ozarks Healthcare's main campus is a 114-bed hospital in West Plains. The health system also operates a network of family medicine and specialty clinics throughout the region.
