Richie Splitt has stepped down from his role as CEO of Norman (Okla.) Regional Health System.
Aaron Boyd, MD, chief physician executive, and Rick Wagner, CFO, have been named co-CEOs, according to a Sept. 24 Norman Regional news release shared with Becker's.
The facility will be "jointly physician led and professionally managed, with a focus on physician alignment, quality and efficiencies," the release said.
During his time with the system, Mr. Splitt led the organization through rebuilding its Moore Medical Center after a tornado destroyed it in 2013. He was Normal Regional's chief administrative officer at the time and was named CEO in 2016.
"It has been the honor of my career to serve this remarkable institution and community," Mr. Splitt said in the release. "The dedication of our staff, physicians, and leadership team has been the driving force behind our success. I have no doubt the incredible momentum we've built together will propel Norman Regional to even greater heights in the years to come."
Norman Regional Health System includes an acute care hospital and freestanding emergency rooms, urgent care facilities and primary and specialty care clinics.
