New York hospital names COO, chief nursing officer

Richmond University Medical Center in New York City has named two new C-suite leaders.

Jonathan Zipkin, MD, was appointed executive vice president and COO, according to a Sept. 24 news release from the hospital.

Dr. Zipkin most recently served as a chief medical officer, overseeing 275 outpatient facilities at 11 health systems, the release said.

Christine Mahoney, DNP, RN, was named senior vice president and chief nursing officer.

Dr. Mahoney was previously chief nursing officer at New York City-based Mount Sinai Beth Israel and vice president of critical care nursing at Mount Sinai Health System, also based in New York City.

Richmond University Medical Center is a 470-bed facility affiliated with The Mount Sinai Hospital and the Icahn School of Medicine, both based in New York City.
