Mary Valliant, CEO of Barnwell Hospital in Barnwell County, S.C., will become the CEO of the regional hospital created from a merger, according to a Times and Democrat report.
In September, Barnwell and Bamberg counties agreed to sell their hospitals to Dobbs Equity Partners, which would begin bankruptcy proceedings to organize debts. The hospitals would then merge to create a new regional facility.
According to the report, Dobbs Equity initially looked for a candidate with a strong financial background but eventually chose Ms. Valliant for her clinical background and leadership at Barnwell Hospital over the past six months.
