Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, is looking for a new CEO after Dave Vellinga announced he will focus on other duties, according to a Citizen-Times report.
Mr. Vellinga will continue to lead Des Moines-based Mercy Health Network, Mercy Medical Center's parent corporation, as CEO. He will also serve as chairman of the University of Iowa Health Alliance, a group that works to improve the health status of its communities and reduce healthcare costs.
A replacement CEO for Mercy Medical Center has yet to be named. Mr. Vellinga will participate in the search and remain the hospital's CEO until a replacement is found.
