Eau Claire, Wis.-based HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital President and CEO Julie Manas abruptly departed from her roles.
"HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital is moving in a new direction. As a result, Julie Manas…is no longer with the organization," an emailed statement from Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System, the hospital's parent, reads.
Ms. Manas, who also served as HSHS' Western Wisconsin Division president and CEO, assumed the roles in 2012. Prior to that, she was president of Genesis Medical Center and senior vice president of Genesis Health System, both located in Davenport, Iowa.
HSHS leadership as well as Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's hospitals' board of directors "appreciate Manas' service to HSHS during the past six years and wish her well as she begins this new chapter in her career," according to the statement. They intend to quickly appoint a new division president and CEO. St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wis., is a part of HSHS' Western Wisconsin Division.
HSHS President and CEO Mary Starmann-Harrison will serve as interim leader of HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital until a permanent successor is selected.
