The board of directors at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., has named Kurt Newman, MD, president and CEO, effective Sept. 1, according to a hospital news release.
Dr. Newman has been at Children's National for more than 25 years and currently serves as the senior vice president of the Center for Surgical Care, a role he has held since 2004. He will replace current president and CEO Edwin K. Zechman, who announced he will be retiring after 17 years of leadership.
