Corewell Health East, part of Corewell Health, which has dual headquarters in Grand Rapids and Southfield, Mich., is letting go of three leaders as it makes various leadership changes to improve the region.
The announcement comes from Darryl Elmouchi, MD, interim president of Corewell Health East, who sent an email to employees Oct. 19 about the changes.
"We must honor the unique history and importance of each of our [eight] Corewell Health East hospitals while also looking at the services we provide across our communities in a shared and collaborative manner," he wrote in the email shared with Becker's.
Dr. Elmouchi said several leaders will take on permanent new roles. Others, including himself, will serve in an interim capacity during searches for permanent leaders. Several leaders will also depart Corewell Health over the next few weeks, Dr. Elmouchi said.
Seven things to know:
1. Nancy Susick, RN, COO of acute and post-acute care for Corewell Health East, will become president of Corewell Health's Beaumont Hospital, Troy.
2. Brian Brasser, senior vice president of integrations and enterprise portfolio management office, will become interim COO of acute and post-acute care for Corewell Health East.
3. Josh Halverson, a senior partner at ECG Consulting, will become senior vice president of medical group operations for Corewell Health East.
4. Derk Pronger, president of Corewell Health East's hospital in Farmington Hills, Mich., will become president of Corewell Health's Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe. He will remain president of the Farmington Hills campus.
5. Tim Lyons, MD, who has served as president of Corewell Health's Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, since the beginning of 2023, will leave Corewell Health.
6. Thomas Lanni Jr., president of Corewell Health's Beaumont Hospital, Troy, will also leave Corewell Health.
7. Kendall Troyer, senior vice president of medical group operations, will leave Corewell Health.
