The Christ Hospital Health Network, based in Cincinnati, has appointed Rob Heimann, MBA, to its Board of Directors.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Heimann's appointment.
1. Mr. Heimann has two decades' worth of experience in healthcare and IT operations and investment. He currently serves as a director for River Cities Capital Funds, a growth equity firm investing in progressive healthcare and IT companies. He has also served as vice president of corporate development at IntelliSeek, Inc., a marketing services company.
2. Mr. Heimann is also on the board of directors of Trax Technologies, Ifbyphone, Perfectserve, MedPlast and PetSuites. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Invivodata and MXLogic.
3. He received his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., graduating with distinction. 4. The Christ Hospital Health Network has served the greater Cincinnati area for 125 years. The Christ Hospital was established in 1889 when James Gamble, a forefather of Procter & Gamble, asked teacher, nurse and missionary Isabella Thoburn to come to Cincinnati to begin a program to train deaconesses and missionaries to perform religious, educational and philanthropic work to help reduce the poverty in the city. Ms. Thoburn opened the 10-bed Christ's Hospital, which eventually was renamed The Christ Hospital in 1904.
5. The healthcare network currently offers more than 100 outpatient and physician practice locations. The Christ Hospital was recognized on Becker's Hospital Review's "100 Great Hospitals in America" list in 2014 for the third consecutive year.
