California's Oak Valley Hospital District CEO Placed on Paid Leave

John Friel, CEO of Oak Valley Hospital District in Oakdale, Calif., has been placed on paid administrative leave for the next four months until his contract with the hospital expires, according to a Modesto Bee report.

The hospital district's governing board did not provide a concrete reason for placing Mr. Friel on paid leave. Mr. Friel himself has declined to comment on the board's decision. He has served as the hospital district's CEO for nine years and will be succeeded by CFO John McCormick, who will serve on an interim basis.
