Debbie Bloomfield, PhD, has shared plans to retire as CFO of Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health at the end of 2024 after more than three decades with the health system.
Dr. Bloomfield will begin transitioning from her CFO role on July 1 and shift to financial leadership oversight of the health system's subsidiary companies, including construction, real estate, and facility management arrangements and functions. Dr. Bloomfield will maintain this shifted role until the end of 2024, according to a March 18 news release.
Travis Crum, BSMH's current senior vice president of finance, will take over as CFO on July 1.
In his existing role, Mr. Crum leads financial functions like accounting and financial reporting, capital planning, tax, accounts payable, payroll, financial decision support, and budgeting and forecasting.
Dr. Bloomfield started her role as CFO of BSMH in 2013. Dr. Bloomfield previously served as CFO of the health system's Cincinnati; Springfield, Ohio; Paducah, Ky.; and Lima, Ohio, markets.
During her time as CFO of BSMH, Dr. Bloomfield implemented and formed the health system's real estate, construction and facilities management functions. She also founded Advantus Health Partners, a group purchasing organization.
