Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health tapped Bob Sutton to serve as president and CEO, effective June 18.
Here are six things to know:
1. Mr. Sutton most recently served as Avera's executive vice president of human resources.
2. He has held numerous leadership roles at Avera, including senior vice president of community relations.
3. His prior experience includes serving as president of the South Dakota Community Foundation and vice president of government and public affairs for Citibank of South Dakota.
4. He currently serves as president of the South Dakota Board of Regents, and his term ends in 2019.
5. Mr. Sutton holds a master's degree in public administration from The University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
6. He succeeds John Porter, who is retiring.
