Advocate Health names leadership team in wake of merger

Advocate Health, a newly combined system resulting from the merger of Atrium Health and Advocate Aurora Health, has named its executive leadership team.

"This is a stellar leadership team — each with diverse experience and a proven track record to boldly lead our new organization into the future," Eugene Woods, CEO of Advocate Health, said in a Dec. 5 news release.

Jim Skogsbergh, who will serve alongside Mr. Woods as CEO until his retirement in 18 months, said in the release that the executive leadership team "will chart the course for our journey to reimagine health and well-being, advance health equity and improve the lives of individuals, communities and teammates."

Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium and Advocate Aurora, dually headquartered in Milwaukee and Downers Grove, Ill., closed on their formal combination Dec. 2, resulting in a $27 billion, 67-hospital system. The Charlotte-based combined system has 150,000 teammates and footprints in Illinois, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.
