Adventist taps president for new service area

Adventist Health has appointed a leader for its new service area model in Southern California, according to a news release from the Roseville, Calif.-based health system.

Alice Issai, president of Adventist Health Glendale (Calif.), was named president of Adventist Health's new Glendale and Simi Valley service area.

In her new role, she will oversee the integrated operations of the 515-bed Glendale facility and the 144-bed hospital Adventist Health Simi Valley (Calif.).

Adventist Health Simi Valley President Jennifer Swenson stepped down from her role, effective July 30, according to the release.

Adventist Health's new service area expands on other recently modified service area models across the system. The system modified service area models in California and Oregon this spring after adding hospitals from Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.

In the release, Todd Hofheins, COO of Adventist Health, said the timing for the new Glendale and Simi  Valley service area "is imperative as we gain momentum from new acquisitions."

Adventist Health is a faith-based, nonprofit integrated health system with more than 440 care sites, including 28 acute care facilities and approximately 38,000 employees across the West Coast and Hawaii.
