The American College of Healthcare Executives announced it installed Gayle L. Capozzalo, FACHE, executive vice president of strategy and system development at Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System as its chairman at the organization's 55th Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago.
Ms. Capozzalo takes over for outgoing chairman Rulon F. Stacey, PhD, FACHE, president and CEO of Poudre Valley Health System in Fort Collins, Colo. Diana L. Smalley, FACHE, regional president, Oklahoma communities for Oklahoma City-based Mercy was elected the 2012–2013 chairman-elect, and four healthcare leaders were elected to serve on the organization's board of governors. They are: Capt. Robert S. Fry, PhD, FACHE, assistant deputy chief for future operations at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, D.C.; John L. Harrington Jr., FACHE, CEO of Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Ariz.; Vanda L. Scott, EdD, FACHE, CEO of Select Specialty Hospital, Knoxville, Tenn.; and Sunil K. Sinha, MD, FACHE, vice president of medical affairs for Bon Secours–Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Va.
Twenty-four healthcare executives were also elected to serve serve three-year terms as regents for ACHE.
