Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive retirements in the last four weeks:
1. Richard Azizkhan, MD, president and CEO of Omaha, Neb.-based Children's Hospital & Medical Center, is retiring, effective Aug. 16.
2. Eugene Bassett, interim senior vice president of operations and president and CEO of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican's Siena Campus in Henderson, Nev., retired, effective June 30.
3. David Baumgartner, MD, CMO of Mercy Health St. Mary's in Grand Rapids, Mich., is retiring, effective Sept. 6.
4. Teressa Conley, president and CEO of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican's Rose de Lima Campus in Henderson, Nev., retired, effective June 30.
5. Bill Kottman, president and CEO of Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill., is retiring, effective Sept. 30.
6. Patrick Magoon, president and CEO of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, is retiring, ending a 22-year tenure.
7. Dennis Manley, chief nursing officer of Mercy Hospital Joplin (Mo.), retired July 26.
8. Elizabeth Murphy, RN, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Mercy Health Saint Mary's in Grand Rapids, Mich., is retiring, effective Nov. 5.
9. Russ Myers, president and CEO of Virginia Mason Memorial in Yakima, Wash., plans to retire, effective in early 2020.
10. Roy Proujansky, MD, chief operations executive of the Delaware Valley for Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children's Health System, is retiring, effective Aug. 7.
11. Gary Pulsipher, president of Mercy Hospital Joplin (Mo.), retired July 26.
12. Mike Sanders, CEO of Monroe (Wis.) Clinic, will retire by the end of the year.
13. Elaine C. Thompson, president and CEO of Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health, plans to retire, effective Dec. 31, 2020.
14. Brian Turney, president and CEO of Kingman (Ariz.) Regional Medical Center, plans to retire in the second half of 2020, ending a 25-year tenure.
15. Beth Walker, RN, president of FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy, N.C., is retiring, effective Jan. 3, 2020.
