Charles Ayscue has called North Carolina home for his entire healthcare career, and he currently oversees the fiscal strategy of one of the healthiest financial health systems in the state.
As CFO of Mission Health in Asheville, N.C., Mr. Ayscue manages all financial operations of the state's sixth-largest health system. Mission Health brings in more than $1.6 billion in gross patient revenue and has one of the more stable lines of credit. This past February, Fitch Ratings affirmed its AA rating on the roughly $325 million revenue bonds issued by the NC Medical Care Commission Health System on behalf of Mission Health.
"The affirmation of Mission Health's AA rating is a strong testament to our strategic direction and excellent financial performance," Mr. Ayscue said. "Mission Health has maintained the AA rating since 1998 and is well-positioned for continued success as one of the top health systems in the country."
Before arriving at Mission Health, Mr. Ayscue served as CFO of the University of North Carolina Health Care System in Chapel Hill for 20 years. While at UNC Health Care, he helped develop a combined operating expense budget of more than $1.4 billion for the 1,096-bed health system and improved UNC Health Care's overall cash balance by $500 million over a 15-year period.
Mr. Ayscue also was the comptroller and associate director of financial services for the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro prior to his time at UNC Health Care.
