Walgreens launched a digital platform and marketplace July 26 to connect its millions of online consumers with 17 providers operating at Walgreens retail locations nationwide.
Here are three things to know:
1. The platform, Find Care Now, allows customers to search for local and digital healthcare services such as urgent care, lab testing, physician consults, and optical and hearing services at Walgreens locations.
2. The digital platform is accessible through the health services section of Walgreens' mobile app and its website. Consumers will receive information regarding healthcare services based on their location and health condition, and receive pricing information. Users will also be able to schedule visits and complete online consultations in some markets.
3. The marketplace will include providers from 17 healthcare organizations, including Chicago-based Advocate Health Care, Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health, Orlando-based Florida Hospital and New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
"We are pleased to collaborate with Walgreens to expand access to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's world-class care through this convenient new platform, Find Care Now," Peter M. Fleischut, MD, senior vice president and chief transformation officer at NewYork-Presbyterian, said in a prepared statement. "Through NYP OnDemand, our suite of digital health services, NewYork-Presbyterian can reach more patients in need of our care and help make our communities healthier."
