University of Cincinnati to host second annual telehealth conference

The University of Cincinnati College of Nursing will partner with UC Health, local and regional partners to host the second annual National Telehealth Conference from March 19 to 20.

The university hosted the first annual National Telehealth Conference in March 2014, featuring Charles R. Doarn, special assistant in the Office of the Chief Health & Medical Officer at NASA Headquarters, editor-in-chief of the Telemedicine & e-Health Journal and co-chair of the U.S. government's FedTel Working Group.

Bill Woodson, the senior vice president of the Center for Strategic Planning at Sg2, will deliver the keynote speech on March 19. Sg2, a Skokie, Ill.-based health market intelligence and strategic analytics company, was founded in 2001 and serves more than 1,400 organizations. Alpharetta, Ga.-based MedAssets bought the firm in August 2014 for approximately $142 million.

The conference will also provide attendees with a chance to test out telehealth equipment and breakout sessions with simulated scenarios of how the technology can be used. Attendees can choose among four breakout tracks on day 1 and among six on day 2, each session featuring a variety of speakers on topics related to telehealth use and policy.

Admission is $150 per person until Feb. 13 and then increases to $175.
