Hospital and health system C-suite leaders are focusing their technology strategy more on the basics — EHRs and people — than the latest digital tools, a new report found.
Executives say they are placing a higher priority on EHR optimization and workforce management over the next two years and deemphasizing digital health to improve the patient experience and operational solutions, according to the Jan. 22 report from Sage Growth Partners. The management consultant surveyed 108 C-suite leaders from hospitals and health systems.
Here are the top five health IT investments the leaders plan to make over the next one to two years:
1. Data/analytics: 42%
2. Cybersecurity: 41%
3. Revenue cycle: 37%
4. Operational efficiency: 27%
5. Patient access: 26%
