As companies raced to digitize their organizations, demand for skilled technology talent, like interim CIOs, has doubled, The Wall Street Journal reported March 22.
According to the report, demand for interim CIOs, chief information security officers and chief technology officers grew by 83 percent between 2020 and 2021.
The accelerated demand for tech talent is being attributed to the pandemic, as organizations had to quickly modernize their technology and digital transformation efforts.
Interim CIOs are now being looked at as leaders who need to transform and update technology quicker than before, according to the report.
