Report: Only 6% of Radiologists Educated on Meaningful Use

While 60 percent of radiologists are planning on or considering qualifying for meaningful use, only 6 percent consider themselves educated on the topic, according to a KLAS news release.

KLAS and the Radiological Society of North America partnered on the "Radiologists' Take on Meaningful Use: a KLAS-RSNA Report," which includes feedback from 216 radiologists in private practice, hospital-based practice and academic centers.

Results showed that nearly 40 percent of radiologists are concerned about the lack of clarity in meaningful use guidelines or reduced efficiency from adopting these guidelines. In addition, 25 percent of respondents said their radiology information system or picture archiving and communications system vendors were not prepared to help them meet meaningful use requirements.
