An American Academy of Family Physicians survey showed the ability to customize their electronic health record system is the most satisfying aspect of EHRs for family physicians, according to an AAFP news release.
The "2011 EHR User Satisfaction Survey" included responses from 2,719 family physicians who had EHRs — an increase in participation of more than 550 percent since 2005. Family physicians reported being satisfied or very satisfied with the ability to customize their EHR (78 percent), the electronic prescribing capability (70 percent) and electronic messaging (69 percent).
