Organizations that wish to be temporarily certified for using EHR may now submit applications to The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, according to a news release from the ONC.
Certified providers will be eligible for federal funding as long as their EHR use meets "meaningful use" requirements. Organizations that meet the requirements will be eligible to receive some of the $36 billion in available funds.
According to a report by ExecutiveGov, HHS has already received 40 application inquiries and 14 requests for applications.
