The Department of Health and Human Services has sent a final set of standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria for EHR system testing to the Office of Management and Budget, according to a posting on the website of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
The certification criteria adopted in the final set establish the technical capabilities and related standards that certified EHR technology will need to include in support of the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs.
The OMB will review the rules before they are released.
