Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based SoutheastHealth is shuttering its home health service line in Cape Girardeau, Stoddard County and Dexter due to labor shortages.
The home health services will end in August, with the program in Stoddard County ending Aug. 8, and Cape County closing Aug. 15, according to a July 14 press release from SoutheastHealth.
Declines in payor reimbursements as well as labor shortages were attributing factors to the decision.
The hospital is looking for other roles and positions for its home health services employees to take on and is reaching out to other healthcare organizations to assist in transitioning its home-based care patients to other programs.
