Minneapolis-based Medtronic has reported two potential data breaches that occurred last year, according to a Star Tribune report.
The data breaches were likely caused by hackers who were able to access the computer systems, according to the report. Medtronic said no patient data was stolen, but they were unable to locate some records after the hackers gained access to the system.
Medtronic said they do not believe patient data was affected, but the company is taking steps to ensure patient privacy rule compliance, such as notifying appropriate government bodies, according to the report.
