Last Two Mayo Health Hospitals Go Live With EHR System

Austin (Minn.) Medical Center and Albert Lea (Minn.) Medical Center, both part of Mayo Health System, are on track to go live with a new electronic medical record system this weekend, according to an Austin Daily Herald news report.

The new EMR system will allow all Mayo facilities to have timely access to patients' medical records and better coordinate care. Tammy Kritzer, AMC vice president of clinical support, said although patients have expressed some concern about privacy and security, the new EMR system is password-protected, and physicians and staff will have limited access to patient data, according to the news report.

AMC and Albert Lea Medical Center are the last two facilities within the Mayo Health System to go live with the soon-to-be system-wide EMR.
