Kelly Cronin, director of interoperability for healthcare transformation at HHS' ONC, will leave the agency after 15 years of service, according to an internal email reviewed by Becker's Hospital Review. ONC head Donald Rucker, MD, sent the email to agency staff Jan. 24.
Ms. Cronin will begin her new role as deputy administrator in the HHS' Administration for Community Living on Feb. 4.
"We are excited for Kelly to have this new opportunity and that she will not be far from us on the 6th and 7th floors," Dr. Rucker wrote in the email. "Her leadership and deep knowledge of health IT and healthcare writ large has been instrumental in ONC's success over the years."
Ms. Cronin was the ONC's first employee when the agency launched in 2004. She led three offices and several major initiatives during her time at the agency, including the state health information exchange program and the office of care transformation.
