HHS' Office of Minority Health and Emdeon, a provider of revenue cycle management and clinical information exchange solutions, have created a program to donate electronic health record software and services to physicians in small practices in underserved areas of New Jersey, according to an Emdeon news release.
Emdeon will donate licenses for its EHR to 100 healthcare providers in medically underserved communities and/or healthcare provider shortage areas.
The New Jersey Health Information Technology Extension Center and the HIMSS Latino Community are also partners in this program, which is designed to encourage increased adoption and use of EHRs and help reduce health disparities among minorities.
