HHS, Diabetes Association, AT&T Study Diabetes Care Via Mobile Health

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Minority Health, the American Association of Diabetes Educators and AT&T have launched an initiative to evaluate the use of mobile devices to deliver Diabetes Self-Management Training in an underserved minority community in Dallas, according to an OMH news release.

DSMT teaches people with or at risk for diabetes how to modify behavior and self-manage the disease. The initiative aims to determine the effectiveness of evidence-based DSMT interventions delivered by diabetes educators via mobile health programming.
