HHS Awards $9.2M in Grants to Support Healthcare Access in Rural Areas

The Georgia Health Policy Center at Georgia State University was awarded three contracts totaling more than $9.2 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration to support healthcare access in the rural U.S. over the next three to five years, according to a GHPC news release.

The GHPC's Community Health Systems Development team focuses on helping communities build local capacity to increase access to care and improve the health status of their residents. The team provides training and support, with concentrations on organizational sustainability and strategic planning. The program offers a variety of innovative techniques including individual site visits, webinars, peer-to-peer learning, workshops, an interactive online database and more.
