Google to Shut Down its Google Health Service

Google Health, a service that gives people access to their personal health and wellness information, will be retired by Jan. 1, 2012, according to a company release.

Google Health users will still be able to download their health data until Jan. 1, 2013, in a variety of formats, including printable PDFs, Continuity of Care Records and comma-separated value files.

The release stated that the service did not have the large impact it had hoped it would, and it was unable to reach widespread adoption among many people.
