Microsoft HealthVault, a personal health record platform, will soon be able to help transfer health record data from users of the now-defunct Google Health service, according to an InformationWeek report.
Next week, the two companies plan to announce the availability for users to migrate records between the two services, the report said. Users can email their Google Health data to themselves and upload it to a HealthVault account through the "Direct Protocol open standard for secure health data exchange."
This comes amidst Google's recent announcement that it is retiring Google Health on Jan. 1, 2012.
