An employee at one of Google's offices in Switzerland has been diagnosed with coronavirus, according to CNBC.
"We can confirm that one employee from our Zurich office has been diagnosed with coronavirus," a Google spokesperson told CNBC. "They were in the Zurich office for a limited time, before they had any symptoms. We have taken — and will continue to take — all necessary precautionary measures, following the advice of public health officials, as we prioritize everyone's health and safety."
Google has restricted employee travel to Italy, Japan, Iran and South Korea. Although an employee at the Zurich location tested positive for the virus, Google said the office will remain open.
Coronavirus has also affected Google's U.S. operations. On Feb. 28, Google announced that it would be canceling its Global News Initiative summit that was scheduled to take place in late April in Sunnyvale, Calif.
