Ed Marx, who previously served as CIO at Cleveland Clinic, is joining health IT consulting firm HCI Group as chief digital officer, according to a March 2 news release.
Tech Mahindra, HCI Group's IT parent company, recently completed an investment of more than $160 million in acquisitions of digital and consumer experience companies Pininfarina, BIO Agency, Mad*Pow and Born, said Ricky Caplin, CEO of HCI Group, according to a news release emailed to Becker's Hospital Review.
As HCI Group's first chief digital officer, Mr. Marx will oversee digital transformation efforts related to the recent acquisitions.
"With Tech Mahindra, our digital reach is across the healthcare continuum to include providers, pharma and payers," Mr. Marx said in the news release. "I am looking forward to providing leaders with the tools and knowledge to begin and cultivate their own digital healthcare transformation."
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Mr. Marx served as CIO for Texas Health Resources and University Hospitals. He is a fellow of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society as well as an advisory board member of CareMESH, a patient data exchange platform.
