EHR Incentive Payments Near $25B

As of May, CMS has paid out $24.4 billion in electronic health record incentive payments to eligible hospitals and providers since 2011, according to new data.

Of the 4,737 active hospital registrants in the program, 4,578 have received at least one payment since 2011, totaling $14.6 billion.

So far in 2014, 29 hospitals have received a payment. Other CMS data showed a total of 128 hospitals had attested, though just 10 of those attested to meaningful use stage 2.
