On or around Dec. 19, Loma Linda (Calif.) University Medical Center experienced a data breach of confidential health information of roughly 1,336 patients, according to an LLUMC news release.
An investigation determined that an employee, who has since been fired, attempted to take or did take the related information home, according to the news release. Information included patient date of birth, address, medical record number, driver's license and — in some instances — Social Security number. Affected patients have been notified.
